Oral Cancer Symptoms: What to Watch For

Oral cancer can affect the lips, tongue, cheeks, and throat—and catching it early is key to successful treatment. That’s why it's important to know the warning signs and stay proactive with regular dental checkups.

Common Symptoms Include:

  • Persistent mouth sores that don’t heal

  • Red or white patches inside the mouth or on the tongue

  • Lumps or thickened areas in the cheek

  • Difficulty chewing or swallowing

  • Chronic sore throat or hoarseness

  • Numbness in the mouth, face, or neck

  • Loose teeth without obvious cause

If you notice any of these symptoms lasting more than two weeks, don’t wait—get it checked out.
